Mirrored self misidentification delusion.

Nineteen years old, I'm here creating art and squeezing this tube of toothpaste for whatever I can before it runs out.
Gustav Mesmer
Gustav Mesmer was an inventor of experimental human flying machines, after disrupting a communion ceremony claiming the whole ceremony was a fraud, he was diagnosed as mentally ill. He was then committed to the Bad Schussenried mental home, being diagnosed as a schizophrenic of the paranoid type.
I came across Gustav’s work during my project focused around schizophrenia, the thing I find most interesting about these is that to a ‘normal’ human being it is clear that these machines won’t work, but to Mesmer becoming completely absorbed in his idea of creating flying machines he believes they may work.
The thing I find most powerful about these machines, is that they are almost a symbol that this individual is inhabiting a different reality, one where the laws of physics have less of an impact than the power of the imagination.
